Granted, the weather in the Boise area has finally gotten warm (okay, hot). But truly, it is a DRY heat. While the rest of the country is melting (currently the temperature in St. Louis is 97F with 49% humidity - making it feel like 109F), Boise is enjoying the summer (and not to rub it in, but today's high will be 89F).
Congratulations to the team members at Primary Health Medical Group for earning the distinction of the 3rd Best Place to Work in Idaho (among large employers). The awards were revealed on April 21 in Boise.
Employees are given anonymous surveys that measure workplace satisfaction and are scored in each of the following categories:
There are many situations when the Emergency Department is the right place for patients to go: serious head injuries, chest pain - true emergency situations. But research shows that time and time again many of the patients visiting the Emergency Departments at hospitals could be served at Urgent Care clinics. And in faster time. And for less money.
Idaho is a great state to live in - and especially the Treasure Valley (which encompasses Boise and the surrounding area). But don't just take my word for it.
The State of Idaho Department of Commerce tracks all good news Idaho-related. And just what is the good news?
Money Magazine recently ranked the 25 Best Places to Retire - with Boise taking the #6 spot. The survey takes into account the cultural and social activities offered by a city, as well as the educational opportunities provided by nearby universities.
Primary Health Medical Group continues to grow. Currently, we are recruiting for both our Appointment Based Family Practice and our Urgent Care practice. You can find more information about Primary Health, benefits and practice in the Treasure Valley.

We love Boise State University Football. Most people in Boise do (except a few rogue Idaho State Vandals fans). Sure the games - and tailgating - are fun. And it's easy to catch the contagious atmosphere that swirls about the valley when a game is approaching. But we love BSU for another reason - what they do for Boise and the surrounding area in terms of National Spotlight.
Here's another distinction for the Treasure Valley - and specifically for all you animal lovers out there.
PETA recently recognized Boise among the top 10 in their 2010 survey of the most vegetarian and vegan friendly cities in North America. Boise came in 10th among small cities in the United States. For the survey, PETA took into account the number of vegetarian restaurants and vegetarian friendly restaurants per capita and also asked for input from PETA supporters and staff members on the quality of options.
In its August issue, Outside Magazine names Boise the overall winner (and top West city) in its 2010 Best Towns survey. The annual list was compiled using the following criteria: quality of sporting life, cultural vibrancy, the resiliency of the economy, and stability of the housing market.
The highlights: Outside calls Boise a "multisport mecca" and singles out the North End, the park system, the Boise Greenbelt, Bogus Basin, and dozens of high-tech startup companies.
