Sam Shinkle, P.A.-C., grew up in Idaho Falls and worked as a paramedic before becoming a physician assistant. In 2015, he moved to Boise and began his career caring for patients at Primary Health.
Sam provides full-scope primary care and preventive services for patients ages 2 and up. He has a strong interest in heart disease prevention, lipid management, metabolic health, and weight management. He treats chronic conditions including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression, and also offers knee and shoulder steroid injections as well as PrEP evaluation and prescribing.
In his free time, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids and participating in a variety of outdoor activities and sports.

Comprehensive and preventive care for patients age 2 and up. Areas of focus include high cholesterol, cardiac disease prevention, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, PrEP, joint injections and weight loss.
