Primary Health Medial Group has announced plans to open the Treasure Valley's first Pediatric Urgent Care in a new combination clinic located near RC Willey at Eagle and Franklin Roads in Meridian.
Pediatric Urgent Care will be available on a walk-in basis during a full time schedule, and patients will be seen by providers and staff who specialize in caring for children. Other Primary Health locations will continue to treat children as always; the new clinic offers a more specialized option for parents.
Primary Health CEO and pediatrician David Peterman, M.D., explained the importance of bringing Pediatric Urgent Care to the Treasure Valley. "Primary Health Urgent Care clinics have a long history of providing quality care to the children of the Treasure Valley for acute illnesses and injuries. We have identified a need to offer specialized care just for children in a clinic setting that is sensitive to the needs of children. The clinic staff and providers will have special training in pediatrics. Our new clinic will make it easy to access the best pediatric care whether your child is sick, needs a gentle blood draw, or is injured and needs a calming hand to ease anxiety during an x-ray. Our standard urgent care clinics will continue to offer services for both adults and children. Initial reaction from parents has been very positive and we are excited to bring Pediatric Urgent Care to the Treasure Valley. "
The clinic will be the group’s largest facility to date with 18,500 square feet and 42 exam rooms. Pediatric Urgent Care and appointment services will be housed in one half of the building, and family medicine and urgent care in the other half. The clinic’s appearance will be similar to other recently built Primary Health clinics, with special internal and external design features on the Pediatric side. Groundbreaking is anticipated for summer 2018 with a grand opening in March 2019.
